2012 Acumen Solutions Race for a Cause: Superheroes Run for FLOC

It’s not too late to lace up your running shoes and join us for the 2012 Acumen Solutions Race for a Cause on Sunday, October 14th in Arlington, Virginia!  This superhero-themed 8K and 1-Mile Fun Run is a great way to support For Love of Children.  When you sign up for the race at www.theraceforacause.com (tonight before 9 pm, or in person at the race), select FLOC as your nonprofit of choice and you will ensure that more of the race proceeds are allotted to FLOC.  For each participant that selects For Love of Children as his/her organization of choice, FLOC will receive 100% of the registration fee.  In addition, out of the 10 nonprofits you can support through the Race for a Cause, those with the most registrants will earn even more of the race proceeds, so invite your family and friends!

Last year we had about 350 participants, which put us in 5th place and earned our organization $12,000!  This year, we hope to do even better to earn money that would have a huge impact on our programs for kids.  We truly appreciate all the support we have received so far – right now we have just over 200 registrants!  This kind of support shows our community’s commitment to our programs and the mission of our organization to teach, empower, and transform.  We could not do it without your support, so we thank all of you “superheroes” who will don your capes on Sunday and run on our behalf.
